Anmol Bishnoi sent to 11day remand by Delhi court
New Delhi- Delhi's Patiala House Court has sent Anmol Bishnoi, accused in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, to the custody of the National Investigation Agency for 11 days. The NIA arrested Anmol, brother and close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, after his deportation from the US, and produced him in the Patiala House Court at around 5 pm under tight security.
Special Judge Prashant Sharma, while hearing the agency's plea for 15-day remand, sent Anmol to 11-day NIA custody. Now he will be produced in the court again on November 29.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, SPP Rahul Tyagi said, "He is a very important member of the terrorist-gangster syndicate. He has some very important information. He was running the syndicate and was a key member."
The NIA had sought his remand to ascertain his modus operandi, source of funds, involvement of other people and operation of the syndicate. “We are trying to find out how he fled India,” he said. Heavy security was deployed around the court, including the RAF (Rapid Action Force). Media personnel were not allowed to enter the court proceedings.
Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother and close associate Anmol Bishnoi as soon as he was deported from the US. The NIA had confirmed this by releasing a photograph.
The flight carrying gangster Anmol Bishnoi landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).
Let us tell you that Anmol Bishnoi was absconding since 2022 and is the 19th accused arrested in the ongoing investigation of the NIA. In March 2023, the NIA filed a chargesheet in the case, which clearly stated that Anmol had assisted Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in several major crimes across the country between 2020 and 2023. According to the investigation, Anmol ran a terrorist syndicate for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from the US. He provided shelter, money and logistical support to the gang members. He was also involved in threats and extortion in India from foreign soil.
Anmol Bishnoi is an accused in several high-profile cases, including the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the conspiracy in the Baba Siddiqui murder case in Mumbai and the shooting at Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments. He has more than 21 cases of extortion and attempt to murder registered against him in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar districts of Rajasthan. Anmol's arrest is being considered a major success in dismantling the global network of organized crime and terrorist funding in India.
