Allegations of Donation Theft at Badrinath Temple Temple Committee Orders Internal Probe

Chandigarh:- The Badrinath Temple administration has ordered an internal inquiry following allegations circulating on social media that a temple employee tampered with donations and offerings made by devotees.
The controversy began after Sanjeev Khattri, president of the Kaal Bhairav Sena, alleged that an employee associated with the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee had manipulated devotees' offerings. He claimed the alleged incident took place between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and demanded that CCTV footage from inside the temple premises be made public. The allegations quickly went viral on social media.
Responding to the claims, Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Hemant Dwivedi announced that an internal inquiry committee has been constituted to investigate the matter. He said that if any employee is found guilty after the investigation, strict action will be taken.
Dwivedi also rejected claims circulating online that the accused employee was serving as his personal secretary. He clarified that the individual is a permanent employee of the temple committee and had previously worked as a personal assistant to three former chairpersons of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee.
Meanwhile, the committee's Chief Executive Officer, Sohan Singh Rangad, said that CCTV footage from the temple had been reviewed after the allegations surfaced. However, he noted that the available footage was not clear enough to verify or dismiss the claims conclusively.

Temple Committee Appeals Against Spreading Rumours
The temple committee has urged the public not to circulate unverified or misleading information until the investigation is completed. It emphasized that the matter concerns the faith of millions of devotees associated with the world-famous Badrinath Dham, and no conclusions should be drawn before the facts are established.
