Air India suffers loss of Rs 4000 crore ReasonPakistan
New Delhi: Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has shared the information that the airline has suffered huge financial losses due to Pakistan closing its airspace for Indian aircraft after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
CEO Wilson told during a program that due to this, Air India had to suffer an estimated loss of about Rs 4,000 crore.
Main cause and background of the loss
• Time of incident: This whole situation arose after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April 2025. This attack took place on April 22, 2025, in which 26 people, including 2 foreigners, were killed.
• Airspace closure: In response to this attack, the Indian government retaliated through 'Operation Sindoor', due to which India and Pakistan closed their airspace for each other.
• Routes had to be changed: Due to the restrictions, Air India had to change the routes of many of its international flights, which led to a huge increase in operating costs.
