Advocate Dhami objects to Delhi government rejecting Prof Davinderpal Singh Bhullars release petition
Amritsar, February 10:- Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the Delhi government's decision to reject Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar's release petition again, terming it as injustice to Sikhs. Advocate Dhami said that earlier during the Aam Aadmi Party government, Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar's release petition was rejected many times by the Sentence Review Board and now the BJP government is also following the same path and making decisions against Sikh sentiments.
He said that the Sentence Review Board has recommended commutation of the sentences of many prisoners, while the case of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, who has been serving a sentence for 33 years, has been rejected. This is a violation of human rights, which is creating disappointment in the Sikh world. Advocate Dhami said that on the one hand, the BJP claims to be a Sikh fanatic, but the government's approach to matters related to Sikhs reveals its double face.
He said that Sikhs have always made great sacrifices for the country, but the negative approach of governments towards Sikhs has always given disappointment. The SGPC President appealed to the government to do justice in the decision of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, who has spent more time in jail than his sentence, and to order his immediate release.
