Administration conducts surprise checks on gas agencies and petrol pumps

Nawanshahr:- Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh said that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol and diesel in the district. He assured the district residents that the administration is keeping a close eye on the entire supply chain to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities. The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration is checking three gas agencies and three petrol pumps daily so that black marketing of LPG cylinders and petroleum products can be stopped.
He said that so far, 16 gas agencies and 30 petrol pumps have been checked by the officials and no flaw has been found during the inspection so far. Appealing to the district residents, he said that there should be no panic in any way regarding the availability of LPG cylinders, petrol and diesel. He said that there is sufficient stock of these items.
He appealed to the people that there is no need to panic buy petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders as such activities unnecessarily affect the proper management and supply chain. He further informed that the Punjab government has already implemented the Essential Services Management Act to check misuse of essential commodities.
He warned that strict action will be taken against black marketing and illegal hoarding of essential commodities. The Deputy Commissioner invited the people to make a missed call to book LPG cylinders and ensure that their respective gas agencies pass e-KYC for uninterrupted supply.
