ADGP Shiv Kumar Verma arrived in Hoshiarpur to monitor Operation Prahar2
Hoshiarpur: Shiv Kumar Verma, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), arrived in Hoshiarpur to personally monitor the ongoing Operation Prahar-2. This campaign is being conducted on a large scale against criminals and drug traffickers in the district.
Speaking to senior correspondent Daljeet Ajnoha from Hoshiarpur, the ADGP stated that this special operation has been ongoing for the past 72 hours. So far, approximately 1,250 criminals have been identified, of whom 125 have been arrested. In addition, raids have been conducted at more than 400 locations.
He stated that approximately 600 police personnel have been deployed for this operation. Additionally, 60 special teams have been deployed for checking at checkpoints, bus stands, and other sensitive locations.
Regarding the ongoing special campaign against drugs, the ADGP said that several drug traffickers have been arrested, and properties linked to the illegal drug trade are being identified and legal action is being taken.
He appealed to the public to report information to the police helpline without fear or hesitation. "The police are for the public, and public cooperation is crucial to winning this fight against crime and drug abuse," he said. He also emphasized the media's role in making this campaign a success.
Police operations under Operation Prahar-2 are continuing, and a strict crackdown is being carried out on the crime and drug networks in the district.
