Additional District Election Officer reviews SIR progress

Hoshiarpur:- Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Nidhi Kumud Bambah held a review meeting with the Electoral Registration Officers of Churasi, Udmur and Chabbewal on Thursday evening to review the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of the electoral rolls in the district. During the meeting, he reviewed in detail the counting work being done by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) going door to door.
The Additional District Election Officer directed the officers to upload the information of the counting work being done by the BLOs on the designated mobile app in a timely manner and to ensure that no eligible citizen of the district is deprived of registering his name in the electoral roll.
During the meeting, the Additional District Election Officer directed the Electoral Registration Officers to complete the work of rationalization of polling stations in the district by 24 July 2026 as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. He said that as per the criteria set by the Commission, proposals for setting up new polling stations will be prepared and sent to the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, in those polling stations where the number of voters is more than 1200, so that voters can get more convenience in the voting process.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu, Election Tehsildar Ramandeep Kaur and Election Law Officer Lakhbir Singh were also present on this occasion.
