Nawanshahr:- A sapling planting campaign was launched at the District Administrative Complex today in connection with World Environment Day. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Sanjeev Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Avneet Kaur and Assistant Commissioner General Ramanjit started the campaign by planting saplings. During this, ADC Sanjeev Sharma said that preserving the environment is the common responsibility of all of us.
He appealed to the people to contribute in keeping the environment clean by planting more and more saplings and reducing the use of plastic. ADC (Rural Development) Avneet Kaur said that saplings are being planted at various places in the district under Mission Hariyali.
She said that every citizen should plant at least one sapling and should also take responsibility for its maintenance. Officers and employees of various departments were also present on this occasion, who gave the message of saving the environment by planting saplings.
