Nawanshahr:- The three-day Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela held at the ITI ground was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner General Jagdeep Singh was specially present with her. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur said that the three-day Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela being organized by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Punjab and the Industries and Commerce Department under the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission has started from today.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the fair by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, he visited the home decoration items, handicrafts and organic products, home spices and pickles, swings, cultural programs and food stalls and also interacted with the members of the Self Help Groups. He said that more than 50 stalls have been set up in this fair by the Self Help Groups and the concerned departments.
He said that the products made by the Self Help Groups will be exhibited in the fair so that their products can be better marketed and they can get a better platform to sell their products in future. He appealed to the people to come to this fair in maximum numbers and purchase and promote the products made by the Self Help Groups so that women empowerment can be strengthened.
