ADC Launches Help Desk at District Election Office

Hoshiarpur: Acting on the directives of the Election Commission of India and District Election Officer Ashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)—cum—Additional District Election Officer Nidhi Kumud Bambah inaugurated a help desk on Wednesday at the District Election Office (Room No. 217) within the District Administrative Complex. This help desk has been established with the objective of providing necessary assistance and information to voters during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign.
The Additional District Election Officer stated that, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, a help desk has been set up at the district level to ensure easy access to election-related services for all eligible citizens—particularly persons with disabilities, migrant voters, and senior citizens.
She explained that, through this help desk, voters will be provided with information regarding the timeline of the SIR campaign, eligibility criteria, and the documents required for registration, amendments, or the deletion of names from the electoral rolls. Furthermore, voters will be assisted in linking their details with previous special revision records, as well as in filling out and submitting the necessary forms.
She added that migrant voters would be provided with assistance in identifying their current and previous Assembly constituencies to ensure that their names are registered at the correct location. To enhance voter awareness, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials in the local language will also be displayed at the help desk.
The Additional District Election Officer noted that trained personnel have been deployed at the help desk to facilitate voters in easily linking their details with the previous revision records.
Appealing to the general public, she urged them to make maximum use of the Election Commission's helpline number—1950—and its comprehensive mobile application, 'ECI Net'. She further informed that, through the "Book a Call with BLO" feature available on the app, voters can directly contact their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to seek necessary guidance and information.
Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar and Lakhbir Singh were also present on this occasion.
