ADC Geetika Singh Reviews Republic Day Arrangements
SAS Nagar, January 19: Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh today reviewed the ongoing preparations for the 77th Republic Day celebrations to be held at Shaheed Major Harminder Pal Singh Government College, Phase-6, Mohali.
The review meeting was held at the District Administrative Complex.
While taking stock of the arrangements, the ADC said that all requisite preparations would be completed well in time to ensure that the district-level Republic Day Celebrations is to be celebrated in a befitting and grand manner.
She directed the officials of Municipal Corporation Mohali to ensure complete cleanliness of the ground and its surrounding areas. The Public Works Department (PWD) was instructed to properly maintain the stadium and the main stage. The Health Department was asked to deploy medical teams during the rehearsals, which will commence from January 21.
The local police were directed to prepare a march-past and ensure robust security arrangements. The Education Department was asked to prepare a cultural programme that is dignified and imbued with patriotic spirit.
All departments were instructed to prepare their tableaux showcasing the State Government’s welfare initiatives and flagship schemes.
The Republic Day celebrations will feature a march-past, tableaux display, yoga session, and cultural programmes.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (General) Dr Ankita Kansal, Chief Minister’s Field Officer Gurmeet Singh, District Education Officer Dr Ginni Duggal, and other senior officers.
