Karnal, May 11:- Acting in accordance with the directives of the Superintendent of Police, Karnal, and as part of a special campaign launched against illicit drug traffickers, the CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) unit of the Karnal District Police in Asandh has achieved a significant breakthrough.
During an operation conducted under the leadership of CIA Asandh In-charge, Inspector Anil Kumar—and specifically headed by Sub-Inspector Khemchand—the second accused in this case, Abhishek (son of Sunny), a resident of Ward No. 10, Asandh, Karnal, was apprehended.
Providing details regarding this matter, the Investigating Officer stated that the first accused in this case—Pradeep (son of Hisma), a resident of Ward No. 2, Asandh, Karnal—had already been arrested previously. During a search conducted upon his arrest, 11 grams and 67 milligrams of heroin, along with a motorcycle, were recovered from his possession. He was subsequently produced before the Honorable Court, which granted a three-day police remand. During this remand period, the accused was subjected to intensive interrogation. The investigation revealed that the accused had procured the aforementioned narcotic substance from his associate, Abhishek, with the intention of selling it further. Acting upon confidential intelligence, the police team proceeded to arrest the accused, Abhishek. The team is currently conducting intensive interrogation of the accused in custody, and the investigation remains ongoing to identify and establish the involvement of other associates of the accused who may be complicit in this drug trafficking racket.
