Karnal, December 30: The Crime Investigation Branch-1 team of the district police has arrested an accused involved in a robbery case after obtaining a production warrant. The arrested accused has been identified as Vinod, son of Ashwini, a resident of Azad Nagar, Sultan Band, Amritsar (Punjab). The honorable court has granted a three-day police remand for the accused.
In this regard, the investigating officer informed that the complainant, Bala Devi, wife of Manoj Kumar, had filed a complaint stating that on August 11, 2025, in the morning, she was going for a walk from her house towards Subhash Nagar, Karnal.
At the intersection in front of Chandravati Hospital, an unknown person approached her from behind, forcibly snatched her gold chain, and fled the scene on a motorcycle with his accomplice.
In connection with the said incident, case number 432/2025 was registered at Civil Lines Police Station, Karnal, under the relevant sections. Based on the woman's complaint, the police conducted a thorough investigation, as a result of which the accused was arrested on a production warrant.
Further investigation is underway to arrest the other absconding accomplice, recover the stolen goods, and fully uncover the details of the incident.
