Karnal, December 7:- The team of District Police Station Sadar, led by Sub-Inspector Vikas Kumar, took action in a case of fraud under the guise of sending abroad and arrested the accused Smriti, wife of Akash Preet Singh, resident of Suhana Heights Apartment, Mohali, Sas Nagar, on a production warrant. The court has sent the accused on two-day police remand.
The investigating officer informed that a case was registered at Police Station Sadar, Karnal on October 14, 2025, based on the complaint of complainant Nikhil Tyagi.
The complaint alleged that the female accused and her accomplices defrauded the accused of ?14,12,000 by promising to send him to Canada.
Taking action in the case, the police have already arrested the female accused's accomplice, Sunandan Pathania.
The police stated that the accused will be thoroughly interrogated during the remand period and the entire matter will be revealed.
