Accused arrested for shop burglary cash recovered during police remand
Karnal, July 4: The CIA-1 team of the Karnal District Police has successfully arrested an accused involved in a burglary where a shop's shutter was forced open. Acting under the supervision of Head Constable Manoj Kumar, the team obtained the accused—Rajendra, son of Bantu Ram and a resident of Sugar Mill Colony, Ward No. 8, Karnal Road, Kaithal—on a production warrant from Kurukshetra District Jail and secured a one-day police remand.
Based on interrogation during the remand, ?10,000 of the stolen money was recovered. Upon the completion of the remand period, the accused was produced before the honorable court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.
The investigating officer stated that a case was registered at the Indri Police Station on June 18, 2026, based on a complaint. The complainant reported that unidentified thieves had broken the lock of the shutter of his motor mechanic shop—located near Guda Mod on Garhi Birbal Road—entered the premises, and stolen a tubewell motor along with other items.
An investigation was initiated following the registration of the case at the Indri Police Station.
During the investigation, the CIA-1 team arrested the accused, Rajendra, based on evidence gathered. The police are conducting a thorough investigation, and efforts are underway to recover the remaining stolen goods and arrest other individuals involved in the case.
