Chandigarh:- Five Uttar Pradesh Police personnel were killed in a road accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana's Nuh district on Tuesday morning. The accident took place near Dhulawat Toll Plaza within the limits of Tawru Sadar Police Station at around 10:30 am. After receiving information about the accident, local police and emergency teams reached the spot and started rescue operations.
According to initial reports, the personnel, posted in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district, were heading towards Palwal in a Mahindra Scorpio. Eyewitnesses said that near the toll plaza, the driver tried to overtake another vehicle, but lost control due to high speed and collided with the vehicle in front. The collision was so severe that the SUV was badly damaged and all five occupants died on the spot.
Police said the bodies were trapped under the debris and were pulled out after much effort. Tawru Sadar SHO Shishram Yadav said that initial investigation has confirmed that the deceased were Uttar Pradesh Police personnel posted in Jalaun. The police are in the process of identifying the victims and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
