Hoshiarpur:- A tipper ran over the legs of a girl at the main intersection of Mahilpur, a city on the main road from Hoshiarpur to Chandigarh, causing both her legs to be paralyzed.
According to information gathered on the spot, Lakhwinder Kaur, daughter of Jasvir Singh (26), a resident of Mahimdowal Kalan, Tehsil Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur, when she reached the Mahilpur main intersection in her Activa number PB 07 AK 1330, both her legs were crushed when they came under the rear tires of a gravel-laden tipper number PB 07 AS 9960 coming from Gurdaspur from Hoshiarpur.
On the spot, passers-by took the girl to the Civil Hospital Mahilpur with the help of the Activa. Where surgical doctor Baljinder Kumar provided first aid and referred him to PGI Chandigarh when the condition became critical. The police of Mahilpur police station have seized the overloaded truck and the driver and started further action.
