Amb, February 28: A one-day intergenerational bonding program was organized today (Saturday) at the Tehsil Welfare Officer's office in Amb. The program's primary objective was to strengthen communication between youth and senior citizens, ensuring the exchange of experiences, values, and ideas between both generations, thereby fostering mutual understanding and respect. Over 120 participants, including senior citizens, youth, and women, attended the program as the chief guest.
District Welfare Officer Awas Pandit attended the program as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized that dialogue between generations is the foundation of social strength and that such programs strengthen social harmony. He urged youth to draw inspiration from the experiences of senior citizens and encouraged senior citizens to adopt the innovative approaches of youth.
During this, the people present were given detailed information on the provisions of the "Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Act" and were made aware of the legal provisions related to the rights and protection of senior citizens. Along with this, information was given about various welfare schemes run by the department and eligible persons were appealed to avail the benefits of these schemes. Apart from this, interactive sessions were organized during the program, which strengthened the feeling of mutual understanding, intimacy and respect. Tehsil Welfare Officer Bangana Vivek, Tehsil Welfare Officer Una Jatinder Sharma and others were present on this occasion.
