Nai Chetna Campaign Awareness Camp Organized in Una

Una, January 23: Under the 'Nai Chetna' campaign against gender-based violence, a comprehensive awareness program on women's rights was organized on Thursday at the DRDA auditorium in Una for women of Una block. The program was presided over by former Una MLA Satpal Raizada. The objective of the program was to make women aware of their rights and to send a positive message towards a society based on equality and respect.
Addressing the program, Satpal Raizada said that it is not possible for any society to be empowered, inclusive, and developed without gender equality. He emphasized providing women with information about their constitutional rights, legal provisions, and government-run welfare schemes.
He appealed to every section of society to play an active role in ensuring respect, safety, and equal opportunities for women. He informed that the 'Nai Chetna' campaign is being conducted not only in Una district but throughout the state with the cooperation of NRLM.

**Initiative to Promote Women's Livelihoods, Food Van Flagged Off
On this occasion, Satpal Raizada flagged off a food van with the aim of promoting women's livelihoods.
He informed that through this food van, traditional food products prepared by women of self-help groups will be made available to the general public, which will strengthen women's economic self-reliance. In Una, this food van has been provided to the Om Self-Help Group.

**Concrete Efforts Towards Making Women Self-Reliant
Nirmala Chauhan, State Program Manager of the Himachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission, said that the 'Nai Chetna' campaign is a campaign that will run for about one and a half months, aiming to make women aware of their freedom of movement, participation in fieldwork, and decision-making rights.
She said that under the campaign, women are also being given information about the process of obtaining police assistance, schemes of the Women and Child Development Department, and Legal Aid Services, so that they can understand their rights and play an active role in the development of society. The program was attended by DSP Una Ajay Thakur, District Development Program Officer Ramanbir Chauhan, District Coordinator Sukhdev Rana, Area Coordinator Manoj Kumar, all CLF members, office bearers of village organizations, and a large number of women from self-help groups.
