Una, September 29 – Abhishek Jain, Secretary of the Public Works, Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics Departments of Himachal Pradesh, inspected the under-construction railway underpass in Malahat, Una. Senior officials from the National Highway and Public Works Departments were also present on the occasion.
During this visit, Abhishek Jain reviewed the progress of various ongoing development projects in Una and issued necessary guidelines to the concerned officials to ensure quality and speed in the construction work so that all development projects can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Abhishek Jain informed that a railway underpass is being constructed in Malahat, Una Assembly constituency, at a cost of approximately ?13 crore. He stated that the target is to complete the railway underpass by December 31, 2025.
The construction of this underpass will ease traffic on the National Highway and provide relief to the public, including pilgrims traveling to religious sites like Pirnigah. He explained that the railway crossing causes long waits, which hinders emergency services. The construction of an underpass will alleviate this problem.
Public Works Department Chief Engineer Vijay Chaudhary, Superintendent Engineer Harsh Puri, Public Works Department Executive Engineer Kuldeep Kumar, and National Highway Executive Engineer Satpal Singh, among others, were present on the occasion.
