Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the Dhussi Dam at Pandarawal

Nawanshahr- Due to the increase in the water level in the river Sutlej since the past few days, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma, who reached the nearby village Burj Tehaldas, Pandarawal to review the place where the embankment near the embankment has been breached, said that the district administration is continuously working to strengthen the embankment and prevent the embankment from increasing further.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, who arrived with the officials of the concerned departments, said that after the water level increased in the river in the past few days, the flow of 60 thousand cusecs of water has been recorded at present.
He said that to prevent the embankment of more than 30 feet in Pandarawal, the Drainage Department has stopped it by placing sandbags and appropriate arrangements have been made to prevent it from increasing further. He said that the district administration is taking every necessary step to ensure the safety of life and property of the residents of the areas near the dam.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the condition of the dam near village Tajowal, said that a few days ago there was a flow of 35 to 38 thousand cusecs of water which has now increased and the teams of the district administration are constantly on high alert regarding the situation. He said that in case of any backflow in any area, the district administration will take immediate action to deal with the situation.
He appealed to the residents of the areas near the dam that if there is any information about backflow or emergency due to river water, then it should be immediately given to the control room established by the district administration so that appropriate action can be taken. It is worth mentioning that the district administration has established a district level control room at the local district administrative complex which is functional 24×7.
