Garhshankar:- Sardar Jai Krishan Singh Raudi, MLA from Garhshankar constituency and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, while talking to the media, said that the BJP government at the center wants to rob the ration of about 55 lakh needy and poor people of Punjab, but the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will not allow the ration of any needy person to be taken away.
The Deputy Speaker said that the BJP government at the center has earlier stopped the ration of 23 lakh people in the name of KYC and verification and now the Punjab government has issued a new dictatorial decree and asked it to cut 8 lakh 2 thousand 500 ration cards (about 32 lakh people).
In this way, the central government is on the way to take away the ration of about 55 lakh needy people of Punjab. He said that there are about 1 crore 53 lakh beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act in Punjab and verification has been done for 1 crore 29 lakh beneficiaries and the process is going on for the rest.
In response to a question regarding the action taken by the BJP on setting up camps in Punjab, the Deputy Speaker said that the police had received complaints about money being taken from people in those camps and details of their bank accounts being taken. He said that if money is withdrawn from the account of a common person, then who will be responsible?
The Deputy Speaker said that if the BJP government at the center is so keen to do good to the people, then first it should transfer Rs 15 lakh (DTP) to the accounts of all the countrymen as per the promise (jumla), which have been pending with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the last 11 years.
He said that the BJP government at the center wants to rob the ration of about 55 lakh needy and poor people of Punjab, but the government of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will not allow anyone to snatch their ration.
