Una, August 21- District Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Committee meeting was held today on Thursday in the auditorium of District Hospital Una. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal. During this, the ongoing programs and efforts for TB eradication in the district were reviewed in detail.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal directed that better coordination should be established between the Health Department, Education Department, Women and Child Development Department and various social organizations, so that the goal of TB eradication can be achieved in a timely manner. He said that community participation and public awareness are the keys to the success of this campaign.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sanjeev Verma informed that under the TB Free India Campaign, various activities are being carried out to ensure early identification of patients, timely treatment and nutrition support.
On this occasion, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Vishal Thakur gave information about the ongoing tuberculosis eradication program in the district through a power point presentation. He informed that a total of 1,01,121 people have been identified under the high-risk group in the district. Out of these, X-rays of about 53,000 people have been done so far. Till July, a total of 525 tuberculosis patients have been identified, who are being treated free of cost.
During this, Dr Vishal Thakur requested for some requirements of the department like 3 new X-ray machines, portable canopy, laptop, budget for Nikshay camps, hiring 2 vehicles and filling the vacant posts in the tuberculosis department soon. The Deputy Commissioner gave his consent to these proposals and asked to send them to the Mission Director, NHM Shimla.
On this occasion, District Council Chairperson Neelam Kumari, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Mankotia, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Vishal Thakur, District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Kiran Sharma, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, General Manager Rohit Sharma from District Industries Center, Advocate Rohit Joshi, President District War Association, Vipin Kumar Dera Baba Rudra Nand Ashram, BMO Amb Dr. Rajiv Garg, BMO Gagret Pankaj Prasher, BMO Basdehra Dr. Ram Pal, BMO Haroli Dr. Shingara Singh, District Program Officer Una Dr. Pushpinder Rana along with DRTV-HIV Coordinator Gulshan Kumar, Program Coordinator Rakesh Thakur, Supervisor Sandeep Dheer and others were present.
