Una, August 21- A special awareness camp was organized on Senior Citizens Day at Kalyan Bhawan Una on Thursday under the joint aegis of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and the District Legal Services Authority, Una. The program was presided over by Senior Civil Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Una, Anita Sharma.
More than 30 senior citizens participated in the program. On this occasion, Anita Sharma informed the elderly about their legal rights, welfare schemes and the importance of their active role in society. She said that senior citizens are the heritage of the society and their experiences prove to be a guide for the new generations.
On this occasion, District Welfare Officer Awas Pandit, District Program Officer (ICDS) Narinder Kumar, Tehsil Welfare Officer Jatinder Kumar and other dignitaries were present. The officers present made the senior citizens aware by providing them detailed information about the departmental schemes and welfare programs.
