The training was led by an experienced First Aid Training Supervisor of Red Cross and concluded with formal assessment conducted by Dr. Avinash Chandra Sood, MBBS, registered Red Cross. The aim of the training programme was to equip the factory employees with essential First Aid knowledge and practical skills.
The participants were thoroughly trained in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), poisoning, epistaxis, burns, fracture treatment, choking management, bandaging, sprains/strains, fractures of ribs and other emergency response techniques like snake/scorpion/dog/bee bites, epileptic seizures, drowning, asphyxiation, head injury, heat stroke and dehydration, fever etc. which can save the life of the patient before seeking medical treatment in the hospital.
Giving information about the programme, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that such training sessions are mandatory under the Factories Act, 1948, especially for industries employing more than 150 workers.
She stressed the importance of workplace safety and preparedness to reduce the impact of accidents and emergencies. ‘By providing adequate first aid resources and training, employers can substantially reduce the risks associated with workplace injuries. This not only ensures legal compliance but also promotes a culture of care, responsibility and quick response in emergencies.’
She said the District Red Cross Society encourages other industries to voluntarily organise such programmes in their factories. Interested parties can directly contact First Aid Training Supervisor Sanjeev Singh at 93355-35493 for training assistance.
