Hansi: – There was a stir in Sanatan Dharma Mahila Mahavidyalaya due to sudden fire in generator at around 12 o'clock in the morning. The fire started from the generator attached to the canteen in the college campus. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire.
According to the college administration, there was an explosion in the campus in the morning. When the employees reached the spot, they saw that the generator was on fire. After which an attempt was made to control the fire. But the fire took a terrible form.
After which the fire brigade was informed through dial 112. The fire brigade and police reached the spot. Also, the employees of the SDM office located in the Mini Secretariat also reached the spot. The fire was controlled in about half an hour. Thankfully, there was no loss of life due to the fire.
However, the Principal of the college SK Gupta said that there has been a loss of about 8 to 10 lakh rupees due to the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit. He said that the safety of the girl students is paramount and extra caution will be taken to avoid such incidents in future.
