Katra, June 6 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused Pakistan of attacking humanity and Kashmiriyyat by targeting tourists in Pahalgam. He said their intention was to start communal clashes in India and deprive the Kashmiri people who depend on tourism of their livelihood.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was speaking after flagging off the first train service for the Kashmir Valley and inaugurating several development projects, including the world's highest railway bridge over the Chenab river.
He said tourism provides employment and acts as a connecting link between people, but unfortunately the neighbouring country is an enemy of humanity, harmony and tourism. He said what happened in Pahalgam on April 22 is an example of this.
Mr. Modi said, "Pakistan has attacked humanity and Kashmiriyyat in Pahalgam. "Pakistan's intention was to create communal riots in India. It wanted to take away the income of the people of Kashmir, so Pakistan attacked tourism."
