This type of land distribution and agriculture is contrary to democratic and socialist principles. According to "The Punjab Land Reformers Act-1972" the limit of land ceiling is 17.50 acres and the extra land is illegal. There are 10.50 lakh farmer families in Punjab and 86% of them own less than 5 acres of land. According to an estimate, there are only a few percent of the big zamindars who have more land than the delimitation. These big zamindars have taken unfair advantage of the legal loopholes and taken ownership of the land by showing many units of the family. Apart from this, lands are buried in the name of farmhouses and gardens etc. Labor organizations are struggling against it. Governments and political parties have a question that when will the Ramba, Dati and Palli women of the working families be removed from the plantations? We raise our voice against this cruel distribution of land and strongly demand to distribute the surplus land to the landless farmers and farm laborers by implementing this law honestly and strictly.
