He said it would be impossible to spend on chickpeas and bananas as per the old cooking cost as oil prices are already skyrocketing due to inflation. He said that instead of dozens of bananas in the market, bananas are now available by the kilo and only six to seven bananas cost Rs 60 per kilo and it is not possible to give bananas to children in a diet of five rupees. He said that according to the new menu, all the teachers of Punjab have lost their breath as to how the mid-day meal will be arranged with the old cost and other additional costs.

Union Punjab has written a letter to the Chief Minister Punjab and Education Minister Punjab and demanded that the cost of cooking per student should be increased to Rs 10 and the cost of cooking should be sent to the accounts of schools on time.
