Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 24, 2025: Special DGP Punjab Shri Arpit Shukla informed here today that under the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, extensive security arrangements have been made for the Republic Day celebrations in the state under the leadership of DGP Shri Gaurav Shukla.
The Special DGP, who arrived here today to review the security arrangements with SSP Deepak Pareek at Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminderpal Singh Government College, while addressing the media, said that as part of these extensive security arrangements, special vigilance and blockades have been put in place and extensive checking is being done keeping in view the safety of the general public in view of the Republic Day processions across Punjab.
He said that foolproof security arrangements have been made and the second line of defence has been strengthened in the border districts to strictly prevent incidents like smuggling from the border. He said that ADGP and IG level officers have been deployed in all the districts of the state to monitor the security arrangements.
He said that according to an estimate, more than 15,000 officers and soldiers have been deployed for the security of the Republic Day celebrations.
