Chandigarh, September 11 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that Gurugram has to be made number one in cleanliness ranking with good administrative system and public participation. He appealed that the people of Gurugram should contribute their share in making Gurugram clean, pure and healthy with the theme of Swachh Gurugram.

On Thursday morning, the Chief Minister gave the assurance of maintaining a mega cleanliness campaign in Gurugram under the Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign. On this occasion, Gurugram MLA Mr. Mukesh Sharma and Sohna MLA Mr. Tejpal Tanwar were also present. The Chief Minister himself did kar seva with Swachhta Mitran and motivated the people to adopt cleanliness.

*Adopt cleanliness continuously to create a pleasant environment
The Chief Minister, while addressing the general public in the mega cleanliness campaign, said that cleanliness is the basis of our life. In such a situation, everyone has to come together and create a pleasant environment by adopting cleanliness continuously in their lifestyle. He said that the Haryana government will provide all possible help in making my Gurugram-Swachh Gurugram. He assured that now after the rains, development works will be taken forward at a fast pace for the convenience of the people of Gurugram district.
He said that a big active change will be seen in Haryana under the city cleanliness campaign and in these 11-week special campaign, focus is being placed on beautification and improvement of every urban area. The cleanliness ranking of the urban area will also be determined in which Gurugram will have a prominent place.

*Cleanliness campaign is becoming a mass movement under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister
The Chief Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Mission campaign was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014. Under his leadership, the cleanliness campaign is becoming a mass movement in the entire country.
He said that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of the government but it is the collective responsibility of the people of the entire state. Everyone should become a partner in this cleanliness campaign by keeping their homes, neighborhoods and wards clean.
He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's birthday is going to celebrate Seva Pakhwada in Haryana from 17th September. In this, organizing mass awareness programs with awareness activities like cleanliness, tree plantation, health camps, sports will play a major role in social change. Seva Pakhwada in the state will continue till 2nd October.
The Chief Minister specially thanked the social organizations including the RWD and business organizations for being helpful in the "My Gurugram-Swachh Gurugram" campaign.

*The campaign to make Gurugram clean and beautiful will continue continuously - MLA Mukesh Sharma
Addressing the program, MLA Mukesh Sharma said that this campaign to make Gurugram clean and beautiful will not be limited to a single day or week, but it will be given the form of a continuous mass movement. The MLA assured the Chief Minister that in the coming days this campaign will be taken forward with even more enthusiasm, energy and good strategy.

The MLA appealed to the citizens that this is not possible with the government's efforts alone, but the active participation and cooperation of every Gurugram resident is necessary in this. He said that cleanliness is not just a campaign of cleanliness, but it should become a part of our thinking and lifestyle.
On this occasion, Chief Minister's Media Advisor Mr. Rajiv Jaitley, Gurugram Mayor Rajrani, GMDA CEO Shyamal Mishra, Divisional Commissioner R.C. Bidhan, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar along with other officers and employees and councilors were present.
