
Politics has flared up over the issue of the disaster management fund with the Punjab government.
SAS Nagar, September 11 - Politics has flared up after the statements made by the Union government ministers and the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders about the Punjab government not using it for the flood victims despite the Punjab government having Rs 12,000 crore of the disaster management fund. In this regard, while Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema had said that the Punjab government does not have any such fund, Punjab Government Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian has admitted that there is this fund.

This issue has flared up after both the ministers said different things about the fund. Meanwhile, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Raja Warring has expressed apprehension that the Punjab government has squandered this fund. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are expressing suspicion that this money has been spent elsewhere by the Aam Aadmi Party. The lack of any response from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in this regard is also raising many questions.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has also expressed his apprehension that it is not the case that the Punjab government has used this money elsewhere. He said that the silence of the Punjab government regarding the fund of about 12 thousand crores is raising many questions.
Meanwhile, Socialist Party India National General Secretary Harinder Singh Manshahia has said that the general public should know where the 12 thousand crores allocated for disaster management is and the government should clarify the situation in this regard.
