In a statement issued here, they said that yesterday, the DGP of Chandigarh issued an order strictly banning the action of stopping the common people, checking their documents and issuing challans to the vehicle drivers by the traffic police and orders have been issued that the challans of the vehicle drivers to be done in Chandigarh will be done only through automatic cameras and no police personnel will issue challans to any vehicle driver.
He said that complaints of corruption are being raised under the guise of this act of stopping and checking motorists by traffic police personnel in this manner. Apart from this, the blockade made by the traffic police itself becomes an obstacle in the way of traffic management, hence it should be strictly banned.
