Garhshankar's Baldev Singh leads in the international Best Bapu competition held in Toronto

Garhshankar, June 29 - Competitors from different countries participated in the grand finale of the Mela Punjabiyaan held in Canada. The winner of the main competition of Best Bapu was Baldev Singh Heer of Garhshankar. According to the information given by Baldev Singh Heer's son Balkar Singh Vicky Heer, his father is currently living permanently in New Zealand and in this competition, competitions were held in eight countries around the world including New Zealand, in which his father kept winning competitions at different levels and finally succeeded in winning the final competition held in Canada.

He said that Jaswinder Singh Khosa and Amandeep Singh Pannu of Mehfal Media jointly organized various competitions of Gidda, Bhangra and art at the Ros Conventional Center in Missi Sagar with the aim of bringing the art of Punjabi elders to the public. He said that in this competition, elders up to 93 years of age got the opportunity to show their art from the stage.
His contemporaries and well-wishers of Garhshankar have congratulated Baldev Singh, the former president of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib, on this international achievement and his family are being congratulated. Baldev Singh's son Balkar Singh Vicky Heer said that by winning this title at the age of 92, his father has not only increased the pride of the family but also of the Garhshankar area. Baldev Singh's wife Rajinder Kaur and his daughter Jagdeep Kaur Bola said that in the initial phase of the competition, we did not expect that Baldev Singh would become the international winner of this competition, but in the different stages of the competition, the way Baldev Singh performed brilliantly in Bhangra, cultural information and questions and answers related to family topics, his talent surprised us all once.
 Baldev Singh's daughter Randhir Kaur Virk UK, while talking, said that when my father won the first title of this competition in New Zealand, it was a matter of great pride, but today my father's achievement at the international level has made it a matter of pride for all of Garhshankar.
Baldev Singh's daughter Amandeep Kaur Chauhan says that participating in a competition at an age when elders sit comfortably is a big deal in itself and our father Sardar Baldev Singh not only participated in this competition but also showed by winning that Punjabis are very brave.
