Garhshankar/Dhilwan June 28- According to the information received, 3 people have been killed and 17 people have been injured due to a collision between a car and a Mahindra pickup vehicle near village Gaji Gudana on GT Road Dhilwan in the early morning.
As soon as the information about the accident was received at around 5:15 am, the police party including Police Station Chief Davinderbir Singh, ASI Darshan Lal (Hi-Tech Naka), Road Safety Force Dhilwan team including ASI Kuldeep Singh immediately reached the accident site and took the injured to the nearby Beas Hospital.
He said that at 05.15 am, an Artiga car number HR 67 E 8027 which was going from Jalandhar to Amritsar, collided with Mahindra pickup PB 07 CJ 1390 near Gudana bridge.
As a result, two passengers sitting in the Mahindra pickup died and about 17 passengers were injured. Out of which 1 died on the way to the hospital. The car was being driven by Bhim son of Dharampal resident of Karnal, Haryana. He said that the deceased include the driver of the Mahindra pickup vehicle Kalyan Singh (60) son of Genda Ram resident of Rampur, Tehsil Garhshankar Hoshiarpur and his wife Parveen Kumari 55, Sanjana Devi (19) daughter of Pawanjit resident of Birdon Tehsil Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur.
He said that the Mahindra pickup vehicle and the Artiga car were also going to Beas when this accident happened. He said that there were seven passengers in the Artiga car including the driver who are fine.
