Una, June 27- For Kavita, who is facing the hardships of fate, Himachal's 'Sukhu Sarkar' is no less than a real guardian. 24-year-old Kavita of Jalgran Tabba village of Una district lost her parents at a very young age. Her aunt raised her, but there were many difficulties due to limited resources. And now Kavita, who has reached adolescence, had many questions about self-reliance and her future. In such a situation, the Himachal government stood by her like a parent.
The Chief Minister Sukh Aashray Yojana of Himachal Pradesh has given this orphan daughter the support that only a real guardian of a family can give. First she got pocket money of four thousand rupees every month and help in skill development course, and now at the time of marriage, the government has given a new direction to her life by giving financial assistance of two lakh rupees.
Kavita says that when the Anganwadi worker told me about this scheme, for the first time I felt that there is someone who cares about the lives of people like us. Our Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and the Himachal government are true guardians for us.
She says that getting pocket money of four thousand rupees every month from the government gave a feeling of dignity and respect in life. After graduation, she also did a skill development course in sewing and embroidery. She got married in April 2024, for which Rs 1.40 lakh was sent directly to the bank account under the scheme and an FD of Rs 60 thousand was made.
This is not just help, it is the name of trust
Kavita's aunt Champa Devi, who raised her, says that with the help of the government, not only the expenses of education and marriage were met, but we also felt social security and respect. She says that this is not just financial assistance, but the name of trust. No amount of thanks to the Chief Minister for this is enough.
9 daughters benefited in Una
Unna District Program Officer of Integrated Child Development Project, Narendra Kumar, says that under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, assistance of Rs 2 lakh is given for the marriage of destitute daughters. So far in Una district, a total of Rs 48 lakh has been given to 24 daughters for marriage under this scheme. Apart from this, under the scheme, more than Rs 3.11 crore has been given to 294 children in the district for social security and self-reliance activities.
The government is playing the role of a true guardian
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu says that for the children who do not have parents, the government is the parent. We will not only nurture them, but will also give them every help that a family gives.
Under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, all the needs of children like education, health, coaching, housing, food, clothing, allowance and marriage are properly fulfilled. Children are also given Rs 4000 pocket money, clothing allowance and festival allowance every month. Special efforts are being made for admission in reputed educational institutions and quality education. Provision has also been made for 3 biswa land and financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh for eligible children to build their own house.
The state government has made a law to give these children the status of "Children of the State". Himachal is the only state in the country to make such a law. This reflects the sensitive thinking of the government. Giving the right to a dignified life to orphan children, the government has taken the responsibility of their complete care till the age of 27 years.
Now transgenders, abandoned children and single women are also included
District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep says that the government has expanded the scheme to cover more and more needy people in it. Now transgenders, abandoned and surrendered children and single women are also included in it. Under the scheme, there is a provision of social security amount of Rs 2500 every month to single women.
What does the District Magistrate say
Una District Magistrate Jatin Lal says that the district administration is fully committed to take the Chief Minister Sukh Aashray Yojana to the grassroots level. In accordance with the sensitive thinking of Chief Minister Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the reach of the scheme to every eligible beneficiary is being ensured.
