
District level mock drill organized to deal with emergency.
Hoshiarpur- On the instructions of the Government of India and the Government of Punjab, a district level mock drill was organized today at Dasuha Cantt Ground under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain with the aim of making the district residents aware of safety and rescue in emergency situations and to check administrative preparedness. According to the scenario of the drill, a military station was attacked by a swarm of enemy drones, after which the station commander sought help from the civil administration.

Under this, the administration reached the spot and practiced evacuating 20 victims to a safe place. At the conclusion of the drill, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that this exercise has been done under the vigilance policy of the government so that the efficiency and coordination of the district administration can be checked in any unpleasant or emergency situation.
He clarified that this was just a model practice process, due to which there is no need for the general public to be afraid or panic. He said that the main objective of the mock drill is to mentally prepare the district residents to deal with such situations. He also appealed to the youth to follow the instructions of the government and administration and cooperate in the awareness campaign.
Officers and personnel of Civil Defence, Fire Brigade, Health Teams, 12 Punjab NCC, NSS, Police and Home Guard participated in this mock drill in large numbers. During the exercise, mutual coordination and quick response capability were also reviewed in detail. SDM Dasuha Kanwaljit Singh conducted the mock drill and this exercise was successfully completed in collaboration with Punjab Police, Home Guard, Civil Defence, Civil Surgeon and Fire Brigade.
Common citizens were also present during the drill, many of whom appreciated this initiative and praised the efforts of the administration. The administration assured that such exercises will continue in future as well, so that the district can be made even more capable to deal with emergency situations.
