Excise department gears up to prevent misuse of empty liquor bottles.

Hoshiarpur/Garhshankar, May 28: As per the orders of Financial Commissioner (Excise Department), Punjab, a meeting was held today by Excise Officer Hoshiarpur-1 Navjot Bharti and Excise Officer Hoshiarpur-2 Preet Bhupinder Singh with the licensees of all marriage palaces/banquet halls/hard bars of district Hoshiarpur.

Hoshiarpur/Garhshankar, May 28: As per the orders of Financial Commissioner (Excise Department), Punjab, a meeting was held today by Excise Officer Hoshiarpur-1 Navjot Bharti and Excise Officer Hoshiarpur-2 Preet Bhupinder Singh with the licensees of all marriage palaces/banquet halls/hard bars of district Hoshiarpur.
During this, the licensees were instructed that cases of misuse of empty liquor bottles used in parties organized in marriage palaces/banquet halls/hard bars have come to light at various places in Punjab.
In some cases, these empty bottles are being resold by miscreants after 'refilling' them. To control this, the licensees were made aware of the rules mentioned in the Excise Policy 2025-26 and were asked to strictly follow these instructions so that the sale of spurious liquor filled in empty bottles can be stopped.
The licensees were appealed to extend full cooperation to the Excise Department to stop this. During this, the licensees assured to strictly follow the instructions issued by the department.
