Hoshiarpur - The central and state governments have completely forgotten the martyrdom of the leading martyr Bhagwati Charan Vohra ji, one of the many invaluable gems who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
Shaheed Bhagwati Charan Vohra ji, who was a close associate of many freedom fighters including Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Yashpal, died on 28 May 1930 while testing a bomb on the banks of the Ravi River. These bombs were made to release Sardar Bhagat Singh and Batkeshwar Dutt from Lahore jail.
Bhagwati Charan Vohra ji was a member of the Hindustan Republic Association. He carried out activities in a very planned manner and with full responsibility and performed his duty as the Publicity Secretary of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha with full devotion and commitment.
After the murder of a British police officer to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, the responsibility of taking Bhagat Singh and Rajguru safely from Lahore to Calcutta was taken up by Bhagwati Charan Vohra's wife Durga Devi along with her innocent little son Sachi at a time when the police in every corner of the country was fully alert to catch Shaheed Bhagat Singh and others and was running around to arrest Bhagat Singh and others.
Forgetting the martyrdom of such great revolutionaries of the country, the present governments are wasting the time of the public in giving false praises, making false allegations and spreading false propaganda, which is very condemnable and unfortunate.
The governments that forget the legacy of their unique and precious martyrs are the ones who will destroy the country. The ships of the country are ready to sink. Today the hardworking people of the country remembered Shaheed Bhagwati Charan Vohra in their own way and offered flowers of respect. The struggling people also expressed their commitment to complete the unfinished work of the martyrs.
