Inaugurating various development works at a cost of Rs 79 lakh 63 thousand in five schools in his constituency and dedicating them to the students, he said that for the progress and prosperity of any country, it is essential for its residents to be healthy and educated. Following this principle, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is making continuous efforts to raise the level of health services and education.
Giving details of various development works, he said that 2 smart classrooms were constructed at Government Primary Smart School at Daun village in Kharar constituency at a cost of Rs 17.06 lakh; 5 smart classrooms were constructed at Government Primary School and Government High School at Daun (Ramgarh) in Block Kharar-1 at a cost of Rs 37.55 lakh; 2 smart classrooms were constructed at Government Primary School, Raipur village at a cost of Rs. 15.02 lakh; and development work done at Government High Smart School, Phase 6, Mohali at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh was dedicated to the students.
On the occasion, he also felicitated the students who secured first, second and third positions in the Class X results of Government High Smart School, Daun.
He said that 20,000 teachers have been recruited to raise the level of education in Punjab, and 12,700 temporary teachers have been made permanent and their salaries have been increased three to four times. About 9,000 watchmen and sweepers have been deployed to provide safety and clean environment to children in schools. Internet services have been made available in 17,000 schools.
On the occasion, SDM Mohali, Damandeep Kaur, school teachers, local Panch-Sarpanch, dignitaries and the entire Aam Aadmi Party team were present.
