
Election observer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa reached Patiala for Gram Panchayat elections
Patiala, October 4 - Senior IAS officer and Commissioner of Bathinda Municipal Corporation Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Election Observer posted by Punjab State Election Commission for Patiala district, reached Patiala today. He held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh and other officers to review the entire election arrangements made by the district administration to conduct the election process in a fair, transparent and smooth manner in view of the general elections of Gram Panchayats to be held on October 15.

He held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh and other officers to review the entire election arrangements made by the district administration to conduct the election process in a fair, transparent and smooth manner in view of the general elections of Gram Panchayats to be held on October 15.
Election Observer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa asked the officers to strictly follow the instructions and rules of the State Election Commission to ensure that these elections are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. He said that to restore people's faith in the election process and democracy, the Returning Officer should ensure to discharge his responsibilities with full diligence and honesty. The Election Observer said that on receiving any kind of complaint, action should be taken immediately and a report should be submitted. He also obtained information about the sensitivity and seriousness of the polling booths and also informed about other instructions of the commission and took complete stock of the arrangements being made during the entire election process.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav welcomed the election observer on his arrival in Patiala and said that the election code of conduct is being strictly followed and arrangements for voting including rehearsal of election staff are complete to complete the election process smoothly. She assured the observer that the election process will be successfully completed with fairness, transparency and peace.
