SAS Nagar Mohali, 01-05-2025: During the drive launched against bad elements by District Mohali Police under the directions of Shri Deepak Pareekh IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Shri Saurav Jindal PPS Superintendent of Police (Investigation), District SAS Nagar and Shri Talwinder Singh PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation) District SAS Nagar, team of Inspector Harminder Singh Incharge CIA Staff Mohali Camp & Kharar has succeeded in arresting 01 absconding accused of gang involved in robbery/dacoity at gunpoint.
On 18-03-2025 a Police party of CIA Staff was present at Village Santemajra near Landran Road where ASI. Jatinder Singh received information that Gurkirat Singh son of Varinder Singh resident of village Chhajju Majra, Jaspreet Singh alias Bhuriya son of Jasvir Singh resident of village Rasulpur district Fatehgarh Sahib along with their other associates commit robbery and vehicle theft incidents in Mohali and Chandigarh area on the strength of illegal weapons.
Many of these accused have cases registered against them earlier also. This gang is still active in Mohali and Chandigarh area and has committed many incidents of robbery/dacoity and theft. Based on the information, case number 76 dated 18-03-2025 was registered against the above accused in Police Station Sadar Kharar under sections 309(4), 303(2), 317(2), 3(5) B.N.S. and 25-54-59 Arms Act.
In the said case, 06 accused have already been arrested and illegal weapons, vehicles and car accessories have been recovered from them. In the case, accused Gurkirat Singh was absconding. Continuous raids were being conducted at his house and hideouts for his arrest. On 24-04-2025, accused Gurkirat Singh was arrested by the CIA team from his home address.

Accused Gurkirat Singh son Varinder Singh resident of village Chhajju Majra, Police Station Sadar Kharar, District SAS Nagar, whose age is about 19 years. Who is 12th pass and unmarried. A case of theft is already registered against the accused in City Police Station Kharar.

Case number 202 dated 16-02-2025 Section 303 (2) Police Station Sarangwal, Chandigarh.

Details of recovery:- 1) Motorcycle brand Bullet which the accused had stolen from Ansal Society, Kharar.
2) Motorcycle brand R15 which the accused stole from Global City, Harlalpur Kharar.
3) Motorcycle brand Splendor which the accused stole from Mohali area.
4) Scooter Jupiter which the accused stole from Desu Majra Road, Faratulapur.
5) 02 sets of alloy wheel with tyres which the accused stole along with 02 other cars from Matour area.
6) 01 set of alloy wheel which the accused stole from the area of ??Police Station Phase-1 Mohali.
The accused are on police remand. More recoveries are expected from the accused.
