
The fourth Baisakhi Mela organised at Heritage Akhara was a memorable event.
SAS Nagar, April 29- In the series of heritage Akharas being run by Universal Art and Culture Welfare Society (regd.) Mohali against erotic and violent singing, the 32nd Universal Heritage Akhara dedicated to the Society's advisor late Bibi Jaswant Kaur Khundni was presented in collaboration with Sonia Studio Mohali, in which apart from the colours of folk singing, heritage and cultural folk dances were also presented.

Punjabi singer Gurkripal Surpuri attended the event as the chief guest. On this occasion, he said that such heritage Akharas providing guidance to the youth should be established all over Punjab, so that by connecting the youth with their heritage and culture, they can be saved from drugs and other bad habits.
The stage of the Akhara was conducted by state award winner Algocha Ustaad Karamjit Singh Bagga. The Akhara started with a religious song by Biba Amrit Kaur. Children of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gatka Academy, Mohali, under the patronage of Jathedar Gurpreet Singh Dhalsa, gave a wonderful presentation of the heritage and martial sport of Gatka.
Singer Sukhdev Singh Billa sang songs "Bole So Nihal" and "Mawan Laxmi Nahi" to impress the audience. Gary Gill won the hearts of the audience by singing the song "Sucha Surma" in a powerful voice. Dance performance of young children Gursirat Kaur and Faiz also received immense love from the audience. On this occasion, performances of Vadhi Naach, Jindua and Bhangra under the direction of actor and Bhangra instructor Narinder Neena forced the audience to dance.
Gurkripal Surpuri also sang educative songs for the society, "Tooti Hui Cheej Jodo Toh Gambhir Se Lena Chahiye" and "Rishte Ab Toote Lagae Hain." Posters of songs "Old Love" and "Khalsa Raj" were released at the arena by Kamal Didar and Parwinder Pammi (PADHS Punjab).
Gatka master Satpal Singh Bagi, playwright and actor Malkit Malanga and Puad ki Shaan actress, lyricist and singer Mohini Toor were honoured in the arena for their lifelong service to Punjabi mother tongue and their life journey of guiding the youth.
In the end, the president of the society, theatre artist and actor Narinder Pal Singh Neena expressed his gratitude to all the spectators. Gopal Sharma, film actor Gurinder Makna, Sunny Gill, IPTA Punjab president Sanjeev Singh, President Awardee Balkar Sidhu, Davinder Jugni, Sukhbir Pal Kaur, Atamjit Singh, Mahinder Singh Hariye Ala, Anureet, Harkirat, Mandeep, Hardeep, Ramanpreet, Swarn Singh Channi, Kuldeep Singh Khurmi etc. were present in the arena.
