
Traffic Police conducts awareness seminar on the ill effects of drugs and compliance with traffic rules to students
Kharar, 08 May 2025: Under the campaign War Against Drugs launched to eradicate drugs in the state, the Traffic Police conducted an awareness seminar on the ill effects of drugs and compliance with traffic rules at "The Knowledge Bus Global School", Sunny Enclave, Kharar, SAS Nagar.

Giving information, Karnail Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic said that under the directions of Mr. Deepak Pareek, Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Mr. Navneet Singh Mahal, Captain Traffic, the school students were made aware of the ill effects of drugs, compliance with traffic rules and the importance of sports.
During the seminar, the school students were made aware that some wrong elements lure students and make them addicted to drugs, so protect yourself from such bad elements. Along with this, the students were also told that under Section 199A of the Motor Vehicle Act, if a child below the age of 18 drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years, a fine of up to Rs. 25 thousand and the person who gives a vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for 3 years or a fine.
While motivating the students to help the victims of road accidents, they were informed about the Scheme for Grant of Award to the Good Samaritan run by the government and it was told that if any person helps a person who has met with an accident, then he will be given Rs. 2000 by the government (under the Ferishte Scheme).
On this occasion, the Principal of the school, Dr. Anisha Sehpathi and other staff thanked DSP Traffic for organizing this awareness seminar. On this occasion, the school students performed a street play and made the rest of the school students and other staff aware about not consuming drugs and following traffic rules.
The students who performed the street play were honored by the DSP Traffic. The Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic finally motivated all the students to go towards sports. Apart from this, all the students were explained that you should inform your family members about the education received from this seminar and make your family members aware about not drinking alcohol and driving at high speed and also motivate them to follow traffic rules.
