Hoshiarpur- The Nature Fest being organized by the Tourism Department of Punjab Government and the District Administration till February 25 at the local Lajwanti Sports Stadium got off to a grand start today. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal inaugurated the Nature Fest.
Meanwhile, Mayor Surinder Kumar, District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur, Backfinco Chairman Sandeep Saini, Municipal Improvement Trust Chairman Harmeet Singh Aulakh and other dignitaries were also present. On the first day of the Nature Fest, famous Punjabi singer Alaap Sikandar entertained the audience with his powerful singing.
He made the atmosphere musical with 'Main Nivaan Mera Murshid Uncha', 'Saj Ke Na Niklo Sohniyo Mausam Kharab Hai' and other popular songs. The audience welcomed him with applause, which created an atmosphere of great enthusiasm in the entire stadium. While inspecting various stalls, the Deputy Commissioner said that various activities will be organized in this fest till February 25.
He appealed to the residents of the district to participate in Hoshiarpur Nature Fest with full enthusiasm. He said that through this program, not only the residents of the district but also the people of other places will be able to see the beauty of Hoshiarpur. Apart from this, cultural programs will also be held daily in the fair. The Deputy Commissioner said that there will be open entry for the general public during the Nature Fest and about 100 stalls have been set up in the stadium, in which various items, artifacts and goods have been displayed.
He appealed to the residents of the district to expand the fest and said that this fest will be very entertaining for the people. He said that on Saturday, apart from night camping in Solis and Tharoli and cyclothon in Lajwanti Stadium, there will also be a kids carnival in Van Chetna Park. Similarly, on February 23, India vs Pakistan match will be shown in the stadium. He said that there will be off-roading in Cooknet in which necessary arrangements have been made for the convenience of the participants. People will enjoy boating and jungle safari at Nature Retreat Chauhal. Similarly, on the evening of 25 February, singer Kanwar Grewal will perform his art and after this the Nature Fest will conclude. He said that the purpose of Nature Fest Hoshiarpur is to make people aware of the tourism possibilities in Hoshiarpur, which is situated in the lap of nature. On this occasion, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, Gau Seva Commission member Jaspal Singh, ADC Nikas Kumar, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Sharma, SDM Tanda Pankaj Kumar, Councilor Rajeshwar Dayal Balli, Punjab School Education Board member Ajay Verma and other dignitaries were also present.
