Nawanshahr- District Sports Department, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar today conducted selection trials for weight lifting (boys and girls) at Raja Sahib Sports Club Guna Chaur and selection trials for wrestling (boys and girls) at S. Ravinder Singh Mahil Memorial Gym Park Health Club Mahil Gehla, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar for admission of players in Sports Wings (School) Day-Scholar Boys and Girls (Under 14, 17, 19) for session 2025-26.
District Sports Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Vandana Chauhan while reviewing these trials said that about 150 players participated in these trials. He informed that on 11-04-2025 (age group 14, 17, 19 – boys and girls) trials for running, Kabaddi National and Kabaddi Circle, Handball, Volleyball, Kick Boxing, Football and Badminton are being conducted at ITI Ground Nawanshahr.
Apart from this, he also informed that players will be selected for sports wings from among the players participating in the trials of these sports wings and the selected players will be provided food by the Sports Department at the rate of ? 125 per player per day.
