Uttarakhand: Preparations for Chardham Yatra begin

Dehradun, April 5- For better management of the annual pilgrimage to the famous four Himalayan temples of Uttarakhand, the Chardham Yatra route has been divided into 15 super zones, 41 zones and 137 sectors. Garhwal IG Rajiv Swarup said that more than 6,000 personnel will be deployed on the route to monitor security and traffic arrangements.

Garhwal IG Rajiv Swarup said that more than 6,000 personnel will be deployed on the route to monitor security and traffic arrangements.
The Chardham Yatra will begin on April 30 with the opening of the gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples. The gates of Kedarnath will open on May 2, while the gates of Badrinath will open on May 4. Swarup, who has been appointed as the nodal officer for the yatra, said that the area of ??each sector will be 10 km, where security personnel will patrol 24 hours and perform other duties.
The IG said that a control room is being set up in the range office under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Lokjit Singh. He will personally monitor the security arrangements, traffic, crowd and disaster management preparations. The IG said that the travel control room will start functioning in the next five days.
