Hoshiarpur- Gurleen Kaur, a student of Government Middle School Thenda Chipra, has brought laurels to the village as well as her parents by passing the prestigious scholarship exam NMMS. Expressing happiness on this occasion, school principal Gurpreet Singh said that Gurleen Kaur, a student of the school, has achieved this success due to the hard work of the staff and children under the guidelines of District Education Officer Madam Lalita Arora.

He said that the government provides scholarships to talented children for their education and to help them progress by studying, under which student Gurleen Kaur will get a total of Rs 12,000 from class 9 to class 12. This student was honored today in the school by school principal Gurpreet Singh and Aam Aadmi Party block president Harjeet Singh Bhatia. On this occasion, Block President Harjeet Singh Bhatia said that by passing NMMS, Gurleen Kaur has inspired other students to study and progress.
He said that it is a commendable effort to encourage Gurleen Kaur by felicitating her. Gurleen Kaur's father Manpreet Singh Manna was also present during the felicitation ceremony. On this occasion, Gurleen's grandfather Satpal Singh and father Manpreet Singh Manna said that in today's time, daughters are another name for success. Girls are ahead in sports as well as studies. Today, girls are standing on their own feet in every field after getting educated and achieving great achievements.
He said that while the school staff gives good education to Gurleen Kaur, her mother Mandeep Kaur, grandfather Satpal Singh, uncle Gursewak Singh and aunt Sukhjinder Kaur are also encouraged to move ahead and bring glory to themselves, the school and the family. He said that there should never be any difference between girls and boys, rather they should be encouraged to bring out the hidden talent in them.
