World sees India as a reliable partner: Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called on the Indian industry to take 'big steps' to seize global opportunities at a time when the world is looking at India as a reliable partner. He said the government will launch two missions to promote manufacturing and exports. Addressing a webinar here, Modi asked the industry to identify new products that can be manufactured in the country to meet global demand.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called on the Indian industry to take 'big steps' to seize global opportunities at a time when the world is looking at India as a reliable partner. He said the government will launch two missions to promote manufacturing and exports. Addressing a webinar here, Modi asked the industry to identify new products that can be manufactured in the country to meet global demand.
Modi told the industry, "I want our industry not to just watch these expectations of the world as spectators. We cannot remain spectators, you have to find your role in this, you have to find opportunities for yourself." The Prime Minister also stressed the need to develop new ways of credit delivery to ensure timely and low-cost funds for the country's more than six crore micro, small and medium enterprises.
He said that loans of up to Rs 2 crore will be given to five lakh women, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) entrepreneurs starting their businesses for the first time. The Prime Minister said that the industry has gained new confidence due to the government's confidence in continuous reforms. He said that the government will launch two missions to promote manufacturing and exports.
The Prime Minister said that the industry should focus on the best technology and quality products. He appealed to all stakeholders to identify new products with global demand, which can be made in India. He also encouraged those stakeholders to strategically approach countries with export potential. The Prime Minister said, "The world is currently facing political uncertainty and the whole world is looking at India as the center of development." He said that during the Corona period, when the global economy was sluggish, India had given impetus to global development.
PM Modi meets Princess Astrid of Belgium
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Princess Astrid of Belgium. He said he hopes to open up immense opportunities for the people of both countries through new partnerships in trade, technology, defence and agriculture.
Princess Astrid is leading an economic mission to India comprising senior ministers and businessmen. The Prime Minister meanwhile praised Astrid's initiative to lead this mission to India. Modi wrote on 'X', "It was a pleasure to meet Princess Astrid of Belgium. I appreciate her initiative to lead a 300-member economic mission to India. We are excited to open up immense opportunities for our people through new partnerships in trade, technology, defence, agriculture, life sciences, innovation, skills and educational exchanges."
