National Sports Day organized to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand.

Hoshiarpur- The NSS unit of Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU) Punjab, in collaboration with the NSS unit of Rayat College of Law, Railmajra, celebrated the National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit from 29th to 31st August 2025. The event was organized to celebrate the 120th birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand Ji, also known as the “Magician of Hockey”.

Hoshiarpur- The NSS unit of Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU) Punjab, in collaboration with the NSS unit of Rayat College of Law, Railmajra, celebrated the National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit from 29th to 31st August 2025. The event was organized to celebrate the 120th birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand Ji, also known as the “Magician of Hockey”.
The celebration began with a pledge ceremony emphasizing the importance of fitness, discipline and sportsmanship among the students. Various sports events including skipping, table tennis, push-ups and arm wrestling were organized, showcasing the energy and competitive spirit of the participants.
In this event, prominent personalities including Shri Nirmal Singh Riyat, Chancellor Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab attended as the chief guest and motivated the students to participate in the games and distributed prizes. Registrar Prof. B. S. Satyal, on this occasion, inspired the players to play with sportsmanship.
And talked about taking inspiration from the life of hockey magician Major Dhyan Chand. Apart from this, Vimal Manhotra, Dean Academic Dr. Navneet Kaur, also encouraged the students to actively participate in the games.
Dr. Mahendra Singh, Convener, Sports Club Riyat College of Law, and Dr. Sohnu, NSS Program Officer, Riyat College of Law were also present.
The entire event was efficiently coordinated under the leadership of Mrs. Rattan Kaur, Assistant Director cum NSS Coordinator, LTSU Punjab, who ensured the smooth conduct of all the activities.
The event concluded with a message that resonated with the spirit of the day – “Har gali, har maidan, khel sara Hindustan” – inspiring the youth to embrace sports as a way of life.
