Speaking in Emerging Tricity Season-3 conducted by a private channel in Mohali, he said that major development projects are being carried out by GMADA in the Tricity. Open roads, beautification of roads and better infrastructure are our main priority. He said that the Water Supply and Sanitation Department is making arrangements for the drainage of dirty water as well as emphasising on the supply of canal water.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Housing and Urban Development Department is constantly striving to promote the real estate business in Punjab and make it investor-friendly. He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, e-auction of properties is being conducted in a transparent manner. About Rs 5000 crore revenue has been received in e-auctions conducted by various development authorities.
He said that encouraged by this, more e-auctions are being conducted in the next month. He said that the state government has succeeded in creating an investor-friendly environment. Minister Mundian said that the government organized 2 big camps for the convenience of promoters and developers and 176 certificates of various approvals were given. Now the third mega camp is also being organized soon so that investors do not face any difficulty in getting any kind of approval.
He said that along with this, he appealed to the real estate sector to provide all possible facilities to the common people and said that they should show complete honesty and integrity towards the people buying houses in their housing projects so that later people do not have to face any kind of difficulty. He further said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann government has given a big relief to the people buying plots in unauthorized colonies by amending the Papra Act, under which an opportunity has been given till 28 February to get the plot registered without NOC.
He said that this scheme of the government is getting huge support from the people. Minister Mundian further said that the Bhagwant Mann government has dealt strictly with bribery in the state. Earlier people in the Revenue Department were victims of this problem but now they have got a big relief. He said that the time of field visits of Tehsildars, Kanungs and Patwaris will be fixed so that the people going to their offices do not face any problem due to their absence.
He said that the target has been given to complete the pending mutations by 31st March and special instructions have been given to the Deputy Commissioners for the works related to the Revenue Department related to the NRI Punjabis. He said that after increasing the honorarium of Chowkidaars, now the increase in honorarium of Nambardars is under consideration.
He said that the state government is giving government jobs to the youth on merit in the state and till date more than 50 thousand jobs have been given. He said that transparent, pleasant and smooth government services are being provided to the people in the government offices.
